CBF had the pleasure of hosting the first-ever football game played between two British clubs in the Middle East during the World Cup 2022 break. Thanks to the long international break in winter, we had the opportunity not only to welcome a few professional teams at warm-weather training camps but also to arrange a friendly game between Chelsea FC and Aston Villa FC at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The match was organized in cooperation with Al Wahda FC. Aston Villa FC took home the CBF Al Wahda Challenge Cup trophy.
